LBTYA - 051812

Friday's trade brought to you by Warren:

"Shorted LBTYA on a break of the 13th bar. It was a nice pattern that gapped down, pulled back, and then broke back through the previous low of the morning. The trigger bar closed below the morning low, had a long upper tail, and resistance from the 8EMA. Covered at the Fibonacci extension at the end of the day. 15-minute chart, Fibonacci lines over the first 30-minutes range."

Nice trade. Do you guys go into the day with a short/long bias, or just neutral?

Neutral. Because anything else is a bias, and you are probably wrong. Why guess?

Did I get lucky on this trade, or was it a good setup? GDP, Monday, 15-min chart, Fibs over first bar's range, entry on a break of the 4th bar's high?

    Appreciate any feedback.

Daryl, the red flags for me is that the retracement was a little deep...it broke through the 50% level, and the long upper tail on the first bar. For those reasons I would have probably passed. Having said that, I see the reasons for taking - that 4th bar was solid and strong and closed back above the 50% level. I think as long as you are aware that it is a riskier setup, you are still valid in pursuing the setup. Well done!

Thanks Chris, I would be interested to get your feedback on HP today (Tue). Enter on a break of the 3rd bar high, 15-min chart, Fibs over first two bars.

  6. Daryl, I traded HP tue, good setup. Check out ROSG today, break of the 8th bar high. Nice Trader-X pattern.

Has anyone thought of starting a chat room or maybe a Twitter feed so we can try and share these real time?

FB printed an inside bar today. I'll go long tomorrow if it break's today's high, with a stop below yesterday's (all time) low. Riding this to $1000!

I hope that FB trade works out for you...gap up this morning. I am still a little skittish, but long term I suspect you will be ok. I think in 2 years it will be higher than today. Maybe something good for the IRA?

  9. ROSG again today (Thu), 15-min, break of the 5th bar's high and then a hyperbolic move. Made over $2 in under an hour!

VMW was a nice pattern and short setup today. Gap down, strong move down, pullback to the 38.2% retracement. Entry on a break of the 8th bar's low (overhead resistance from the EMAs) with a eye on the previous low for support and a quick exit if it didn't break. It did break, though, and moved down to the Fiboancci extension. My best trade of the week so far!

Close Richard, but stop wasn't hit and had a nice end of day bounce. We will see what next week brings.
