Tuesday's action

posted by Trader-X:

Post your trades in "Comments".

I just closed NCTY for a nice gain, and am still in OSIS. Both had wider spreads on the Bid/Ask than I care for...but, so far so good (both 30-minute charts).

Charts later tonight.

edit - as Tom C. said last week, I asked him to keep posting as he sees fit. He is on a "mini-vacation" right now, which is why we have not heard from him.

I'm "dying" to know! Did anybody short/long NBIX? Looked like A 2bar hammer break but my 15 charts are not reliable.

Bob - yes, it was. I will close the position if price on the 30-minute chart CLOSES back below the OR high.

Trader X,
I went short on break of 5th bar low on 30 min chart on "A", Agilent technologies. I noticed that if I would have put a stop in my trade above the wick on the 8th bar that closed above the O/R low, I would still be in the trade, and makin moola. Is this similar how you would play it X? I have been playing with these stops on hammers/shooting stars for a while. I get stopped more than I like to.

I shorted A on 3rd bar break 30 min.... It seems that the 30 min charts are more reliable when the mkt is is less volatile...

X.....im curious if you would of taken BOW 5th bar break and CEPH 3rd bar break 30 min "bread and butter"....

zoomie - my stops are usually the extreme of the previous bar to the entry...in your example if you entered a break of the fifth bar low, the stop would have been a break of the fifth bar high. That would have been a profitable trade looking at the chart.

5150 - BOW, no - it retraced too far for me; CEPH - I don't see the play in that stock.
