Smokin' Aces

I saw the movie "Smokin Aces" - despite the fact that it got several bad reviews.

And I must say, the bad reviews are wrong. I thought it was a great movie, and very entertaining.

I have heard it compared to "Pulp Fiction", but I found it to be more like "True Romance". While not as good as those movies, if you are a fan of either you will like it.

And Entourage fans get to see Jeremy P. in a classic role - though he does not get as much screen time as I would have liked...

Saw it, thought it was pretty good. I need to check out True Romance.

X, you are the Tarantino expert. Was True Romance his too?

TJ - it was written by Quentin Tarantino, but Tony Scott directed it. If I remember correctly, QT sold the script for True Romance to fund Reservoir Dogs. All three movies - Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, and Pulp Fiction are somewhat related, with some characters mentioned in each film. Alabama in TR also mentioned by Mr. White in RD. And of course, the Vega brothers - Madsen in RD, and Travolta in PF.

You should rent all three on a rainy weekend and watch them in order...RD, TR, then PF!

My favorite character from TR is Floyd -- Trader-X, er...I mean Brad Pitt nails that role perfectly!

All three great movies. True Romance was the last decent movie Christian Slater was in!!!

Brad Pitt is great, and Val Kilmer does a great cameo as well. The movie is 14 years old, and looking back at the cast it is pretty amazing:
